Coal Miners' Daughters Invitation Boutique, LLC is the result of two lifelong friends who absolutely
LOVE weddings and events. A wedding should be the most celebrated event of a lifetime - one that is
written in the family Bible and sprouts a new branch off the family tree.
Cynthia (Cindy) Hamilton is a Certified Professional Wedding Planner, a graduate of the American
Academy of Wedding Professionals, member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and has years
of experience in wedding and event planning. Marcia Whitehead is gifted in design and is an
experienced wedding coordinator. Both Cindy and Marcia are lifelong residents of southern Illinois,
graduates of Southern Illinois University (go Dawgs!) and are "real" coal miners' daughters.
"It is our belief that since Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding at Cana, every wedding, no
matter how big or small, should be a most wondrous, joyful, jubilant and celebratory event."

Note: Our logo, the yellow canary is a tribute to our late fathers, Tom Waller and Robert Neikes, Sr., both lifelong southern
Illinois coal miners. Before modern technology, miners would carry the tiny birds into the coal mines to help detect the
presence of deadly methane and carbon monoxide gas. Known for their continual song, if the birds stopped singing, the
miners knew an explosion was imminent and they had to get out the mines quickly. Many little birds lost their lives to save
the lives of miners.
